Acnesol Gel 20 gm belongs to the class of medication called 'antibiotics' primarily used to treat acne (pimples). Acne is a skin condition caused when the hair follicles are plugged with oil and dead skin cells. Symptoms include blackheads, pus-filled pimples, and large/red bumps. Acnesol Gel 20 gm contains 'Clindamycin' that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which stops bacterial growth. It shows a bacteriostatic effect, which prevents the multiplication of bacteria.

Acnesol Gel 20 gm is for external (for skin) use only. Avoid contact with eyes, eyelids, lips, and mouth. Like all medicines, Acnesol Gel 20 gm also causes side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects of Acnesol Gel 20 gm include burning sensation, itching, dryness, redness, oily skin, and peeling of the skin. Topical solution: Apply the solution in the dose advised by the doctor to the affected areas of the skin and rub it gently.Mist spray: Spray the solution on the affected areas as directed by your physician and rub it gently.Foam: Apply a generous amount onto the affected areas with hands and massage it with fingers. If the can is warm or the foam seems runny, place the can under cold water.
